Concert in St. Anne's Church Vienna: Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Schubert

The historical church was beautiful and the concert was great. But the building being an old church didn’t offer comfortable seating. And it was very hot when we visited so it was not comfortable.

The church is beautiful but acoustically challenging for a string quartet. The show is a little over 60 minutes. It's in a great area to walk around before and/or after the performance.

The music was lovely and the fact that they played on instruments that are hundreds of years old was wonderful. The church is also a beautiful place for a concert. However, the musicians barely addressed the crowd and missed the opportunity to tell us more about the selected pieces, the musicians, and/or life for these musicians in Vienna during their time. I understand that the intent isn’t for an information session, but a few minutes here and there would really enhance the experience. In addition, the concert was billed with four composers and only two (Schubert) and Beethoven) were included. I assume the selections rotate regularly, but I felt a bit misled about which composers would be featured. Finally, the musicians sat on the same level with the pews and chairs. This may be because of restrictions with the use of the altar. But, only the first few rows could see the musicians at all. For the rest of us, we could only hear and see the occasional bow rising up and down. We love to watch the musicians at their craft and the inability to see them at all meant a big part of the experience was lacking. While we enjoyed the performance, the experience could have been a lot better with some minor improvements. I would recommend another concert operator.

Beautiful music in a cozy venue! The musicians were inspired and the duration was just right. A memorable experience on our last night in Vienna.

The concert was incredible. Inside the church was exquisite. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from the arrival through the entire concert.

The church and the music was magical. This year, so far, I have spent 10 days in Vienna. If I had to make a list of things that a tourist or a local should do in Vienna, this would be in the top 5 experiences.

The setting and acoustics are fantastic, and the fact that period instruments are used gives it a unique sound. One violin used was constructed in 1764.
