Pasta & Tiramisu Lovers Workshop: a Must to Do in Rome

Taking a pasta class while in Italy should be on everyone’s itinerary. Aside from an unexpected hiccup for the wrong meeting location (directions instructed us to a previous restaurant that was no longer connected to Viator), we managed to make it to the new location, Gusto, just in time. Upon arrival we were asked to wash our hands and put on aprons before being split into two separate groups. Our group was led by Jessica, who was charismatic, engaging and empathetic throughout the entire class. We began with the tiramisu as it needed to set for an hour or so, then moved onto the pasta making portion. Everything was nicely set up and ready to go in mini work stations for each person. Jessica was careful to provide instructions without leaving anyone behind, and often checked on each of us to ensure our dough was shaping up as expected. Who knew how much work went into making pasta from scratch!? Once the class was done, Jessica gave us options for sauces and went on to have our pastas boiled. Then we were seated outside for lunch where we were served our pasta and tiramisu. It was such an enjoyable experience and just the right amount of learning and hands-on experience!

A must do experience. We learned to make pasta and tiramisu & even got to eat our creation. The teacher was kept it fun and informative.

This was a favorite experience for us! The people showing us how to make pasta and tiramisu were fun and informative. It was enjoyable being around other people visiting Italy! Would recommend to a friend!

This was a really fun night! Our chef, Hassan, was personable and gave step by step instructions and help. We were in a large group (about 18 people), but we felt like we got personal attention the whole time! This activity was definitely worth it!

Both hosts were fun, engaging and energetic! We had a blast. I would definitely recommend the experience.

This was a fun family experience, the instructor was humorous and fun. However, we were told not to take pictures because he would take them along with a video and email them to us along with the recipes- I’ve never received them. I tried to contact the restaurant through the Viator app and have not had a response. Also, before we began we were told to go downstairs and wash our hands. The bathroom was down a steep staircase through the lower storage area of the restaurant, very dark and very hot- there was no soap! So 13 of us went down there single file into the 120 c heat to run our fingers under water.

Great activity to do with the family. Making a creation and by hand with simple ingredients and then eating it, just amazing. We'll run activity. Thank you Leonardo and staff!

In terms of cooking class, Hassan was great! He really took time to explain and ensured everyone participated as a group. The second part which was seating and eating was just average, the service was poor, we had to ask for salt pepper and spoon... to top it up after telling us we would have a limoncello drink... we were told they had run out... how can you run out in Rome! A real shame as we did a similar cooking class in Florence (pizza snd gelato) snd that one was excellent from beginning to end.
