Vatican - amazing, tour operator - not really a fast track

Vatican itself was great (which is why I’m giving this 4 stars) but what we didn’t realise Is that the tickets were sold through a tour agency, so we had to find their office and then stand waiting for the rest of the group to arrive and then for the person that took us inside to pick up the tickets. We ended up waiting for about 45 minutes - not at all fast track entry!! Plus they overcharge on the ticket price, so buy direct from the official site if you can.

IF YOU PLAN TO BUY THIS ARRANGEMENT WITH A GUIDE - please read first - and DO NOT TAKE THE GUIDE in advance - there is no need for that and do not be persuaded like us! An absolute waste of precious time as well as money we could spend or better throw away than pay for the guide we had - in short - he first lost his ticket for me and then was still nervous about my mom because she kind of told him he lost her ticket too (my mom doesn’t speak English, and he literally gave her the last ticket in front of everyone present- and We didn’t list ANYTHING IT was his fault) Yes, we skipped the line (The ONLY thing that work ) - but then we stayed inside the check in hall for almost 40 minutes until he solved the problem he had made for himself! Other than me, 99% of the group members were super unhappy with the guide because we all met together and talked about it. The surcharge for the tour guide was 25Euro per person, or 50E for me. I, like 99% of the group, left it after about 15 minutes after entering the museum! despair over despair! I definitely recommend taking only the skip the line ticket and that's it! don't sit like me and about 12 other people who are crazy about everything - lost time and money.

Place was amazing but. Very expensive considering the price on the tickets when you get them is, child €8 and adults €17 , I was quite shocked , there was 5 of us 2 adults & 3 children came to €145 on the website compared to €58 I know the tour operator has to make money but wasn’t worth the extra €87 for a fast track

We loved the convenience of Skip-the-Line… a must in the summer. We were able to experience the enormity of the Vatican Museum at our own pace and got the guide information by using Rick Steve’s Audio Guide. Highly recommended!

This is not a fast lane service - you get collected outside the museum at a place called Tours About (appr 5min walking distance to the entrance of the museum) - they tell you that you will the actual physical ticket in the museum - besides that they are quite unfriendly ... and they have many street seller outside trying to see you scarfs to enter the museum - the say it is needed ... which is totally wrong for men at least. After walking to the museum they told us to wait in the first floor next to the ticket office, which we did - die 25min !!!!!! In the meantime hundreds of other people which did not have a "skip the line" ticket where walking by - they had just a normal ticket ... !!! Most of the people of that we were with were very disappointed with this service !!! The Museum is brilliant and amazing - but the service needs urgent improvement !!!

Very efficient service. Worked like clockwork and on time. The only negative is that the museum dress code should have been posted in the description. Instead, the majority of denial visitors had to buy mandatory shawls to cover shoulders and/or knees. Why would that not be in the description or “before you go” section?
