Mark was an excellent guide for our tour! He was full of lifelong experiences and stories from growing up in Charleston. We were only in town for a day, so it was a great way to get a condensed history tour.

We loved Steve, very knowledgeable! It was great that Steve was a native of Charleston. Tour started on time and it was a full 2 hours. It was a good value for the money. I have been on other Charleston walking tours which I loved. I chose this one which sounded different and I loved it too.

The tour guide was nice...

The tour guide was nice but the listing is a little miss leading. We were under the assumption with pictures and descriptions we would be finding and seeing some “hidden passages”. Also put your guide was nice but we got some history and his life from Charleston. We learned where he lived and about a bachelorette group he took to the blind tiger the tour from the night before. Also when the listing says mask might be required for indoors we thought we would be going into our meeting spot and we didn’t. Just a little disappointed. A lot of places we walked around we had already seen the day before just walking alone. And some are armed for you to find on apple map.

Captain Jim for the Win!

Captain Jim was an excellent tour guide! He led an upbeat and informative tour that we learned so much from! He really went above and beyond, bringing bug spray for us and sharing his phone number for any needs or questions we might have throughout our stay. HIGHLY recommend a tour of any kind with him! We hope to book a boat tour with him on our next visit!

Philadelphia Alley with the children's handprints in the brick, Rainbow Row and the extensive history about buildings in Charlestown, and the explanation of how the bay was filled in over the years to expand Charlestown and accommodate merchant ships.

Capt. Jim gave us a fantastic walking tour. We had taken a carriage tour the day before and were happy that Jim did not repeat the information we learned the day before. He learned all about the styles of houses, iron works, and so much more. I really liked that the group was small, so it was convenient to ask questions and everyone could hear him. The day was incredibly hot and Capt Jim provided water for the tour to keep us hydrated. So glad we chose this tour.
