Charleston Boo Hag & Brews Walking Ghost and Bar Tour

David and Ronda, I am editing my response in light of our conversation in hopes of enlightening future guests who may read the review. The tour group that evening was awesome, in fact all the other reviews that night were perfect. It seemed y’all had a wonderful time that evening as well which is why this was so confusing. You state that I was knowledgeable of the area which I certainly appreciate but 1 star , my first in 9 years of operating ? I do also appreciate you actually having the courage to have a conversation with me but in our conversation you just could not accept the fact that you booked a ghost and bar tour and not a food tour. To quote “ we wish you had more local food to the area.” I’m sorry Ronda, then book a culinary tour lmao! This tour ran as described: two bars, one small snack, and a lot of ghostly stops in between. It is fair to rate me based on what I advertise which is why this review makes no sense. The snack is merely a goodwill gesture I provide for guests who just get in town and don’t have an opportunity to eat before what is a nighttime tour. The bar stops are to open up the engagement between myself and my guests instead of just a random guide talking for two hours hours. My tour groups have more chances for an in depth conversation with myself as the local guide over some nice beverages. I hope future guests read the description and understand those expectation will be met and often exceeded, I stuck around 30 minutes that night assisting another group with some questions and where their next bar stop should be. At the risk of sounding harsh if you are too stupid to read the description and blame me for it then I guess this stupid review makes just a little more sense. I love what I do which is why I left the corporate world and I get that not everyone is going to love my tour or me, and that is ok. But to fault a ghost tour over some preconceived notion this was a culinary tour is just asinine, and I will defend the business I have worked so hard to create. Sincerely, capt Bryan

Jenny. I appreciate some of the kind words in your review and I am very open to criticism also when it’s due. Why I’m a little upset is that there are a couple misconceptions you present and probably why I received 3 stars I need to clear up. This tour is advertised as going to two bars. It is in the description and the itinerary. To fault me for not going to more than two bars really doesn’t make sense when that’s what is advertised. For future guests the reason why we go to two bars is because we also focus on ghost lore and stories at several haunted sites along the route so we can get both in equal measure. This leads us to the second very inaccurate thing mentioned that we stand a majority of the time in parking lots. That is most certainly not true and to say otherwise is disingenuous. We stand and talk in one parking lot and one only which is overlooking the graveyard of the circular church. We could reach over and touch the gravestones we were so close. Not one other site on this tour involves standing in a parking lot. Remember the two historic alleyways lodge and Philadelphia? The st Philips graveyards and cemetery we stand beside ? Washington square park ? I really want future guests to know that is not how I operate nor would I want to go on a tour where we stand in parking lots the whole time. It is perplexing that you included that in your review and while I can stomach some personal criticism an outright lie about my tour is unacceptable and the reason I am asking viator to remove this review. Fair complaints about my style or stories are valid , but please don’t confuse future guests about things that are either clearly in my tour description or just an outright falsehood. I will be mindful of taking more time to answer questions for future groups as you suggest but really want folks to know that yes we go to two bars as per my description and also that we do NOT stand in parking lots the whole time lol.
