Windmills and Edam!❤️

Our guide and driver were excellent! Both history and humor! Loved the cheese market in Edam but did not enjoy the cheese tasting- wooden shoe making stop. Too touristy/herding people through their shop for a random taste that was neither described or enjoyed. Please change this stop to another venue. More time at the lunch stop in Volendam would be nice and you could skip Marken- it was like a march through a regular neighborhood. We can’t figure out why we even went there! However Zannse Schans and Edam more than made up for the purposeless Marken stop and the dreadful obnoxious cheese tasting.

Laura was so informative and gave us so much insight to living life in the Netherlands as well as how sustainable the country is. I liked the half day pace as sometimes long tours tire me out. Ramon the bus driver was also very lovely x

A must do trip.Covers most of Netherlands history and culture - countryside /Windmills, Cheese /Clog making, harbours

Very well organised trip. Our tour guide,LAURA, was excellent with her information, English language, friendly, approachable and courteous. She had a good sense of humour too. The sightseeing was breathtaking. Bus was comfortable and driver Ramon - excellent too. The only draw back was a hour long lunch break at the harbour. It was a busy time and restaurants were full. Time for those who take long to walk was less. The only part that felt cramped.

Rememberable & True Value

Ilyan was a fantastic guide and storyteller. So much history but with the meaning and application to life in Netherlands. Our bus was ultra clean and modern with phone charging USB plug. The driver was courteous and safe. The time at each stop was sufficient because the guests were all timely. Bring Euro for toilet as only one free toilet at cheese and wooden shoe factory. The host at the cheese/shoe factory was entertaining and made cornet jokes. This was an exceptional value in every way. We added on the canal tour at end of this tour. Ilyan collected fee (only 12 £) and walked us to the boat. The boat was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Plus, Lex,Captain and guide, was very good, too. I’d do this exact trip again mainly to hear Ilyan’s stories!

Awesome trip and Informative guide

Awesome tour! Our guide was great with all the information and the day flew by. Can’t remember his name unfortunately. (Xavi I think). It was nice to get out of Amsterdam and explore a bit of the surroundings. We did the boat tour afterwards and it was definitely worth it. The captain did a good job keeping us informed about the sights of the canals.

Worthwhile tour

Nice to see the windmills. I would have liked more time to wander around the windmills, as well as time to explore the charming cities of Edam and Marken. A bit too "tour" and not enough leisure/free time. There was a fairly good amount of time in Volendam for a quick lunch and stroll. The cheese production was very brief and not very interesting - didn't really see much. Making wooden shoes was good. Mostly the cheese and wooden shoes is a visit to a large gift shop. I would recommend the tour as a good way to see this area.

I want to start off by thanking on of the best guides I have had from my tour/traveling experiences with VIATOR, Elizabeth from Spain, thank you so much for the wonderful tour, so sweet and engaging with everyone (when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE!) she took the time to explain and answer every single question, made it so much fun and learned so much from her, once again thank you Elizabeth. The tour itself is AMAZING!!! My teenage daughters and myself enjoyed every little bit of it! Another trip that Viator has aced! Thanks a bunch!

It was very nice, a must see trip. We could only book the Spanish tour, but they managed to transfer us to the English tour, with the guide Rob, who was amazing. We really recommend it.

What a wonderful trip. So glad to do it. Our tour guide Xievier and driver Jack did great job. Trip needs a lot of walk on each place. But it’s worthy and pleasure trip. I would do it again next time

Different shops and how cheese is made, wooden clogs made. I think more time needs to be added on this trip. Not enough time
