The Basics

The grand, tree-lined avenues and cobblestone lanes of the Père Lachaise Cemetery make a dramatic backdrop for a walking tour, and the faded headstones and aging monuments harbor centuries of history. With more than 110 acres (44 hectares) to explore, visiting with a tour guide is the most convenient option, and most small-group or private tours stop at all the highlights, including Jim Morrison’s grave.

Great tour, recommendable!
Very interesting tour around the cemetery, would recommend to always go with a tour, as the place is very big and you would otherwise miss the interesting spots. The guide was very nice, made the tour very short while had some funny details to share about the celebrities.

Paris Père Lachaise Cemetery: Famous Graves of Paris Walking Tour
Vic was an excellent and very friendly guide! She had so much knowledge about the stories behind the graves and the contextual history. We would however have liked to see a few more graves considering the time of the tour. But still truly recommend

One Hour Père Lachaise Cemetery: A Self-guided Audio Tour
Very easy to use, had just the right amount of information to get the most out of our visit. None of the in-person tiurs fitted our schedule so this was perfect as you can download and do the tour whenever suits. Will definitely use again.

One Hour Père Lachaise Cemetery: A Self-guided Audio Tour
Good for anyone who wants to learn about who is buried at the Cimetiere Pere Lachaise. A bit bummed out that the trail did not include Jim Morrison, so we had to go on our own and then continue.
