All the places we stopped was great especially the apple pie! Loved the candy at Bob’s. Also liked that it was limited to 8 people in this time of COVID

A fun excursion, I enjoyed sampling the different foods, and the history lessons of the Jordaan area by Nano. Sorry we saw only part of the Rembrandt meets Van Gough show but we ran out of time. Would definitely recommend the tour!!!

We really enjoyed our experience with Naano. His tour was so much more than just tasting a few dishes. He provided historical facts on the neighborhood, it's highlights, and most of all the food. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend.

Learn all about Jordaan neighborhood and Amsterdam history while eating amazing food. Made stops at all the best places and tasted everything Amsterdam has to offer. What more can you ask for? Lots of drinks too. Tour guide was pleasant and funny and you can tell he loved Amsterdam and it’s fine cuisine.

The food tour with Isabelle was an absolute hoot. There were five of us in our group and we all enjoyed it immensely. Isabelle was interesting, informative, and just darn good fun. She even talked me into trying the herring which was surprisingly good. I think any tour led by her would be enjoyable for sure.

Half-Day Tour of Red Light District and Jordaan District with Private Guide in Amsterdam
I truly enjoyed this tour. Tony was an awesome guide, and was very flexible. We had to stop back at our hotel prior to starting because we had packages to drop off, and he didn’t blink. Highly recommend this tour if you are in Amsterdam. Bring you walking shoes though!

Great food tour in Jordaan. Rudolph was great and super insightful. The roasted sausage was my favorite part! We went on a Monday, so some places weren't open, but the replacements were great! Highly recommend.

When to Get There

For smaller crowds, the best time to visit Amsterdam is between April and May or September and November—before or after the summer high season. On Saturdays, go early to beat the crowds at Lindengracht market to shop for cheese, fresh fish, flowers, and handcrafted items. On Monday mornings, Westerstraat market features food stalls and all manner of clothing, from up-market brands to vintage.

Statue Spotting

As you stroll the picturesque canals, in between jaunts to coffee shops and markets, pay attention to the statues scattered throughout the neighborhood. They commemorate various local heroes such as Dutch patriot Johnny Jordaan and folk singers who helped to make Jordaan the Greenwich Village of Amsterdam—people such as Tante Leen and Manke Nelis whose likenesses stand at the corner of Prinsengracht and Elandsgracht.
